The Lord’s Will for Man

Many people have their own understanding and ideas about how they should live. Some people follow God to a certain point, until they hear something they don’t like come from the pastor or teacher. They say to themselves that God wouldn’t want that, and they let their own feelings to lead them. But you must understand that it is written “every man’s own way is right in his own eyes”. This is exactly why man is wrong. He does not know what is good for him because his own selfish desires blind him.. God knows all and sees all, He has a plan and he knows what he is doing. Man must understand that it is not what they themselves “think or feel is right”, but what is right in God’s eyes.

Many people go to church and are led astray by false prophets or hypocritical pastors, because they do not read the bible themselves. If you want to learn who God is, and what He wants you to do, you need to pick up a bible and read it, and find out for yourself. Pray often. He will answer you if you diligently seek his face. You must put some effort into searching for God. If you lost your child, or one of your friends went missing, wouldn’t you diligently search for them with all your might. This is God, he is much more important, salvation is in his right hand, and all blessings and love come from him. He can not make you love him, he is calling and waiting for you to make that step forward in faith in Jesus Christ.

Deuteronomy 10:12-13

12 And now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?

(It is written “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10). Most people fear God because they are afraid of death, or Hell. This fear leads people to salvation. But a better fear is the type of fear that a child has of his/her father. A child fears punishment and in turn, does what it right instead of wrong. A disobedient child brings shame to their parents.)

Psalm 97:10

10 Let those who love the Lord hate evil,-

Psalm 119:4

4 You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed.

(God does not want you to follow just some of his laws, or to take any of them lightly. When you take His laws lightly that you become vulnerable to sin. In Matthew 5:19 Jesus said, “Whoever breaks even the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called the least in the kingdom of heaven.)

Isaiah 1:16-17

16 wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight! Stop doing wrong, 17 learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless plead the case of the widow.

(God does not want us to have still faith. Jus as He acts in the world to help the less fortunate, so should we.)

Isaiah 50:10

10 -Let him who walks in dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.

(Always trust in God even when things look the darkest. The Lord is a light to your path.)

Zechariah 7:8-10

8 And the word of the Lord came again to Zechariah, 9 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. 10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. In your hearts do not think evil of each other.”

(Following God does not only mean keeping away from sin, but also showing humility, patience, and kindness to others. We are to live as Jesus did, not for our own selfish desires.)

Matthew 17:5

5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased, Listen to Him!”

(God said, “Listen to Him!” Jesus, His son the Christ. Learn how Jesus lived, and obey his commands. How can you put your faith in Jesus if you do not even know how he lived, or what he taught. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”)

Matthew 23:8-10

8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi’, for you have only one master and you are all brothers. 9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father’, for you have one father, and he is in Heaven. 10 Nor are you to be called ‘teacher’, for you have one teacher, the Christ.

(Catholics call their priest “father” and they even confess their sins to them. You have only one Father and he is in heaven, and you only need to confess your sins to him. It is good to go to others for guidance, especially if they have more understanding than you. But you need not confess yourself daily to a religious leader in worship.)

John 3:16-21

16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believed stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of the light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

(God wants you to love him and obey him by your own free will. He does not want to force you, so both sides are offered to everyone. Rewards await those who follow the Lord Jesus to the Father, but condemnation awaits those who deny him.)

John 4:23-24

23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”

(God does not want you to seek religious traditions or ritual worship. God does not want you to worship only one day a week. He wants you to love him and worship him all day long everyday. Sing in your heart and aloud, obey him, honor him, do good to others, bear good fruit, and give him praise and thanks for all good things all day long, everyday.)

John 6:39-40

39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

(Remember that believing doesn’t just mean believing that he exists. It also means trusting and obey the Lord with your life. How can you say that you believe in him if you don’t even obey what he has said. How can you believe in him if you can’t trust him. You are saved by grace through faith.)

John 7:16-18

16 Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me. 17 If one chooses to do God’s will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. 18 He who speaks on his own does so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of the one who sent him is a man of truth, there is nothing false about him.

(Let everything that comes out of your mouth be good and for God's glory. Let everything you do be done for God's name, to please Him.)

John 13:34-35

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved yhou, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

(Loving others is difficult sometimes. And sometimes it is easier to love others from a distance. But remember how Christ showed love and did not resist even to death, so that the world might turn and be saved.)

John 15:9-12

9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

Hebrews 13:15-16

15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-the fruit of lips that confess his name. 16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
